Through the year...

Amelia is One Years Old!

Amelia turned one years old on the 18th of December. Can you believe it? I hardly can. It seems just yesterday I heard the words "It's a girl!" This past year has been filled with many different emotions and through it all Amelia has been a blessing.

Amelia had an exciting and fun filled holiday. She celebrated Thanksgiving at her Aunt Marirose and Uncle Richard's house with the McCarthy family.

The following week she enjoyed Christmas at Hershey and added another word to her vocabulary: lights! So fitting for a Christmas baby :) She loved looking at the Christmas light these past few weeks. She points and says "lights".

She celebrated her birthday on December 17th with a winter wonderland theme. The party was complete with some snow flurries. A true gift from above :) She has a blast the party celebrating with family and friends.

Tim and I took her to Red Lobster for her birthday and the wait-staff sang "Happy Birthday" to her.

She had her 12 month check up and is 18.8lbs, and 28.5inches.

On December 24th she celebrated Christmas with the McCarthy family. Aunt Colleen, Uncle Joe, and Ben were in town. We celebrated Christmas with the Thomas family on the 25th. Amelia had fun both days being around family.

November 18, 2011

Amelia is 11 months old!! She is now walking all over the place and has a few words in her vocabulary: bird, and button are the two newest!

She enjoyed her first snowstorm of the season on October 25th!

She helped Daddy rake the leaves on the weekends :)





She's been attending swim class since early September and has a blast. She's been perfecting her back float and enjoys sliding on the slide.

9 months!!

Amelia is officially 9 months old! She is now walking along with her walker and holding onto the furniture. Tim and I think she is officially the fastest crawler we know. She's like Speedy Gonzoleas :) We enrolled Amelia into a swim class at the Y in the middle of September and she seems to be enjoying it thus far.

She is babbling tons and we think she says "hey" and "da-da". Very cute :)

9 month stats:

10 months!!

Amelia is 10 months old today. Amelia enjoys spending the day with her Gram and spends quality time with Tim and I in the evening. She greets me with a big smile when I arrive home from work and says "hey" to Tim when he walks through the door :) The excitement she shows for us is priceless. We try to take her for a walk around the neighborhood a few nights out of the week and on Saturdays we take her to swim class. Amelia is the youngest baby in class, but keeps up with the "bigger" kids. She loves being in the pool and going down the slide.

Amelia has been walking around the house (holding onto things) for a little over a month now. The other night she took two steps.  It won't be long before she is walking. We had to baby proof because Amelia loves to open all of the cabinets :) She dances when she hears music and studies any type of object in a room. She also loves playing wires-she must take after her dad :)

Amelia had her first sampling of fish at Red Lobster the night of my birthday. I think she'll love fish just like her mommy :) She had a great time celebrating Gram and Isaiah's birthdays over the past two weeks as well. She loves being around family and friends.

5 and 6 months!

I am behind with my blogging. Amelia turned 5 months old on the 18th of May. Amelia had two important events during the month of May: her Baptism and Aunt Marirose and Uncle Richard's Wedding! She had tons of fun and was surrounded by loving family on both days.

She has been sleeping well, about 9 hours a night and when she awakes she has a big smile on her face. She seems to love holding her blanket between her hands while she is asleep :)

She can roll from her stomach to back as well as her back to stomach. She is able to sit up (still a little wobbly) and is trying to pull herself up to a seated position...she'll get there soon!

She enjoys bath time and splashing her feet. She is now has a strong interest in all of her bath toys!  We bought her a plush tea set and she loves the noises each item makes. She also loves playing in her jumperoo.

The past few days she has been making lots of noises so, maybe her fast words will be soon ;)

She is scheduled for her 6 month check-up on Thursday so, I'll post her stats soon!

She is growing and developing well!

Amelia is 4 months old!!

Amelia is now 4 months old! It amazes me how quickly she is growing and developing. I can remember the day she was born as if it were yesterday. We wake up every morning to to her cooing in her crib. When we go to pick her up, she gives us a big smile.

She enjoys bath time, plyaing with Dad and riding in the car. She now has an interest in toys and grabs for things.

She started eating baby food last week and seems to enjoy it thus far :)

At her 4 month check up she weighed 13 pounds 11 ounces and measured 24 inches in length!

Amelia is 3 months old!

Amelia turned 3 months on Friday the 18th of March. She has been growing well these past few weeks. She rolled over for the first time on Tuesday the 15th and attempts to pull herself into a seated position. When she is laying on her bell she scoots. We think she's going to crawl soon!

We also think she may be teething as she is showing signs of it. So, we are on the lookout for her 1st tooth :) We wake up every day to a big smile from Amelia-she is truly a happy baby :)

Twelve weeks!

It has been twelve weeks since Amelia has been born-Wow! She is growing quickly and each day is a blessing. I returned to work 2 weeks ago so, Amelia has been spending each day with Gramm. They both seem to be enjoying each other's company.

Amelia can lift her head high and enjoys playing with her toys. We awake each day to a big smile and cooing noises!

Amelia is 2 months old!

My Dad (Amelia's Pop-Pop) passed away suddenly on January 24th and needless to say it has been rough and unfortunately I have not been able to blog about Amelia. Moving forward, I hope to write about Amelia's progress as well as fun stories about my Dad. Unfortunately, Amelia will not remember him, which makes me very sad. I plan to use this blog as a way for Amelia (as well as Ben and other McCarthy grandchildren) to hear about the great man my Dad was.

Amelia arrived three weeks early and I am grateful my Dad was able to spend so much time with her. He and my mom visited at least once a week between December 18th and January 24th. They would come by to visit Amelia, but to also help me. Amelia made him extreemely happy and it was evident.

The afternoon of Amelia's birth my Dad came to the hospital and was so happy with his new Grand-Daughter. He looked at me and said "Kathleen, she really is beautiful. She is the prettiest baby I have ever seen. " I said "Dad, even prettier than me?" He said "Honestly, yes!" I'll always cherrish that moment because he was right-Amelia is truly a beautiful baby.

She has been growing well and is officially two months old! She now weights 11.1 pounds and is 21.75 inches in length. She has been more engaged with us and loves to smile! God blessed us with such a wonderful baby girl. Tim and I couldn't have asked for anything better.

January 18, 2011

Amelia is one month old! Gram and Pop-Pop stopped over for a surprise visit on the 17th. Pop-Pop ran over to Amelia and held her right away. Once again he told her she was the prettiest baby he has ever seen and began singing the song "Cecilia" replacing Cecilia with Amelia :)

We did not realize this would be the last time Amelia would be visited by Pop-Pop :(

Amelia is 3 weeks old!

Amelia is 3 weeks old as of Saturday January 8th! Last week, Amelia had her two week check-up. She weighs 6.9lbs and measures 19.5 inches. She is growing so fast. She spent Saturday at Gram and Pop-Pop's house and Sunday visiting with Aunt Marirose and Uncle Richard. She is lucky to have such a loving family!

Amelia is 2 weeks old!

Amelia is now a little over two weeks old! She has been eating and sleeping well. She has gained several ounces over the past two weeks and now weights 6.1 lbs! She is growing up way too quickly :)

Amelia is more alert now and enjoys watching Tim play Halo!
