Hi, Thanks for stopping by! My goal with this blog is to document my journey of living simply yet functional. I'm excited to begin writing my story and hope you find some inspiration along the way. January 18, 2011

Amelia is one month old! Gram and Pop-Pop stopped over for a surprise visit on the 17th. Pop-Pop ran over to Amelia and held her right away. Once again he told her she was the prettiest baby he has ever seen and began singing the song "Cecilia" replacing Cecilia with Amelia :)

We did not realize this would be the last time Amelia would be visited by Pop-Pop :(

Amelia is 3 weeks old as of Saturday January 8th! Last week, Amelia had her two week check-up. She weighs 6.9lbs and measures 19.5 inches. She is growing so fast. She spent Saturday at Gram and Pop-Pop's house and Sunday visiting with Aunt Marirose and Uncle Richard. She is lucky to have such a loving family!

Baby Thomas has arrived

I went for my 37 week OB check-up on Friday, December 17th. The doctor said I was 80% effaced and the baby was at fingertip. I thought I still had a few more days before Baby T would make his/her debut. After my appointment, I went for a hair cut and then returned home to finish up a project for work. I took a nap and woke up to the first sign of labor for me-my water had broken. I called my sister, Colleen for comfort and reassurance.

Tim called me around 5:30pm on his way home from work to inform me he made dinner reservations at Legals Seafood to celebrate my accomplishments with school this past semester. I was happy yet sad (b/c I really wanted seafood) to inform him that we would not be making it to dinner that night.

We arrived at the hospital around 6:30pm and the process began. I was fully dilated by 4am and began pushing. Unfortunately, after 4.5hours, Baby T did not make it out. The baby was face up and the doctor was unsuccessful at turning the baby. At 8:51am, I headed to the OR for a C-section. I was heart-broken to hear this news, but at 9:06am when my baby girl arrived, I knew it was well worth it. Amelia Claire Thomas was born on December 18th weighing 5lbs 12oz and 19inches in length. Amelia was born on the 17th anniversary of my Grandmother's death. I consider this to be a significant sign and hope Amelia possess the same amazing qualities my Grandmother did.

34 weeks pregnant!

It amazes me how quickly my pregnancy has gone by-I am already 34 weeks. I have been extreemly blessed throughout and continue to pray for a healthy baby. My sisters did an amazing job with my baby shower and I am forever grateful for all of their hardwork and for all of those who attended and provide us with gifts.

Last Monday (11/15) my co-workers hosted a lovely shower for me as well! Along with the shower they informed me that they nominated me for the University of Pennsylvania Model of Excellence Supervisor Award. Words can not even express how grateful I am for this.

I will be spending the next two weeks finishing up the fall semester as well as preparing for the arrival of my little one!
